Therapy for the reliable ones
who had to carry it all for everyone
Helping adults in Illinois and Colorado
feel safe in the uncomfortable
and learn to live in their head and their heart
Does this sound familiar?
→ You can spot everyone else’s needs before they even say a word, but you struggle to speak truth to your own
→ Rest feels like something you earn, not something you’re inherently allowed
→ You’re a wizard at handling everyone’s emotions except your own
→ Somewhere along the way, “easy” and “the fixer” became a part of your personality
→ You learned early on that it was best if you just did it yourself
→ It feels good to be needed and scary when you aren’t
I help adults who think first, feel later.
They’ve had to be the ones planning and solving
for everyone else.
I support them in knowing their worth comes from more than what they can do for others.
Now, we’re not going to get rid of those parts of you that care about helping others.
Instead, we’re going to be welcoming of those parts of you that tend to overanalyze or treat every situation like your own personal puzzle. By holding compassion and understanding for these parts, we can dive into the feelings and build trust in yourself. There’s a time and a place for everything, and the more you know about when you need these parts to take action, the more you can work with these parts as a team.

How I Approach Things
Safety, collaboration, and trust are the core values that I hold in my work as a therapist. I bring my authentic self to the space, meaning I’ll be a warm, compassionate human being. When the moment calls for it, I can be direct. And, we’ll probably laugh a bit because I believe laughter and humor are a way to connect and heal.
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic techniques, attachment theory, and a relational lens. I firmly believe that this approach can help you have a deeper understanding of yourself. I respect that the protective parts of ourselves often dictate the pace, and that while it may feel counterintuitive, slow is fast.
And no matter what, I will honor that you are the expert of your own life and experience. My approach will always be in service of the trust and connection we have built together in the therapeutic relationship.
You don’t have to
hold it alone. That’s
kind of the whole point.
Hi, I’m Katie (she/her)! I’m so glad you’re here. I consider myself a lifelong learner and parts work nerd. I believe there is a sports metaphor for every situation. And, I love to create and be in nature in my free time.
At Rooted Mosaic Therapy, I help high-achieving women, queer folks, and adult children who grew up in emotionally immature environments find genuine, meaningful healing from past patterns that are no longer serving them. I support clients navigating relational trauma, anxiety, imposter syndrome, burnout, and loneliness through connecting to your own intuition and building self-confidence.
